Ballerina

Last Monday morning before we go on holiday, so just four days of work to get through for me.  As ever, there was lots going on, with an urgent meeting scheduled very early this morning.  I was thankful that I didn’t get any actions from it, we that would have taken up the rest of my day.

I managed to escape for half an hour at lunchtime to go to the post office and to have the briefest of wanders.  I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, Edinburgh is just so busy.

I had to leave work a little earlier than normal, as we were meeting friends for tea, before going to a show.  I battled my way up North Bridge, and it was a real battle, as we came to a standstill a few times, with much frustration all around – as there is only one pavement in operation and it was gridlock.  To make matters worse it started to rain.  South Bridge was no better and I was relieved to turn into Chambers Street and the rest of my walk to the restaurant was much easier.

I was late, but I wasn’t last, as one of my friends had been stuck on a bus for ages, going nowhere, due to the traffic.  She appeared not too long after me.  Three of us ordered veggie dishes and shared, while TT was the only meat eater on our table!  We then headed to our show – The Chief, with Jack Docherty.  It was very funny and we all enjoyed it.  The downside was the that – it was so very hot, probably not helped by the fact that it has been a very hot and muggy day.  We all went for a night cap in The Guildford, before TT and I ran off to catch our bus home.

I spotted this ballerina at lunchtime - a typical Edinburgh street scene at this time of year.  I think she is Bianca Carnovale, the busking ballerina.  Our show is in the extra.
