Fruit bowl

On the table in the front room at my friends’ house is a beautiful wooden bowl. They lived abroad for many years and the bowl was supplemented with purchases from the local markets. They are well crafted and we tried to identify them all last night.

This morning saw my presentation to staff at a college as part of their mandatory in-service day on child protection, safeguarding, the background and development of Getting it Right for Every Child, and the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights into Scots law. This happened just under a month ago in so far as the Scottish Parliament had powers to do so.

The talk seemed to go very well. Back home via train and bus. Met a German friend of my wife’s. She is staying for a few days before other members of her family arrive (staying elsewhere,). We’ve been married for over 37 years but this is the first time I’ve met her. Lots of great chat, locked up the church and walked the dog. Enough for one day!
