Curracag

.... which is the Gaelic for a bubble on the surface of liquids. Other words for bubble include buileam, puileam, and fuileam.  I'm not quite sure what the differences in usages are, if any.   However having spent some time exploring "Am Faclair Beag" (an on-line dictionary) I discovered that "currac" means a cap or cowl. The suffix "ag" is found in diminutives and so a bubble here is a small cap (which has a logic to it).  However my paper dictionary gives me lapwing for "curracag". I find it interesting how the same word can have such different meanings. 

Anyhow as you can probably tell I went swimming again this morning which I really enjoyed.

Once home, VC came round for coffee - it was good to catch up. I then had my first of two Gaelic classes today. This one was a conversation class for all the students on HE level distance learning courses.  There were 40 of us today - good to know that I am far from alone ! - and after general introductions we then engaged in speed conversations - 5 mins with one person, 5 mins with another, 5 mins in a trio and then 5 mins in a group of 4.  It was good fun and certainly kept me on my toes. I was also pleased to recognise a good few of the other participants.

My second one is my actual weekly tutorial which starts at 5.45 and which I am off now to prepare for.
