Going to St Ives

We decided that today would be a good chance for Bonnie to experiment a train ride. There’s a great ten minute journey from St Erth to St Ives, which also avoids trying to park in St Ives in the impossible summer congestion.
Bonnie has been on platforms before, to greet visitors, and she enjoyed seeing the crowds and their dogs. However, stepping over ‘the gap’ frightened her, and I had to lift her across . She hid under the seats initially but noticed other dogs walking past and soon came out to look around.
St Ives was very busy! We have never been here in August before and it was a bit of a shock! So many dogs too, which Bonnie enjoyed. We went up to The Island to look at the view and the shore, and spotted a grey seal in the water. We found a cafe in one of the little lanes, and wandered back up the Main Street to look in the shops. There was no traffic around and I wonder if they ban it in summer? There were so many pedestrians that cars would struggle to get through.
And then back to the train. This time Bonnie hopped in with no problem so that’s a successful learning experience. She did really well.
