Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Afternoon Glow

Finally about middle day, the dogs got a long walk from home straight to the shore for some "sand-between-their-toes" as we walked out onto the beach then north toward the pier. After spending a little time in the pier vicinity, we decided to walk back toward home on Ocean Avenue, which is the main street through this town, just to see what was happening in this little community. There's more people here than usual, but we're sure that has everything to do with summer time.

After the walk, the pooches all went for a snooze in their crates. We then got in the car and drove to the Post Office to mail some stuff and drove to the Library to sit in their parking lot using the free wifi with our laptops so I could send some emails and possibly get caught-up on blips. After that we stopped again near the pier just to look and we were so glad we did. The afternoon sun illuminates the pier beautifully.

Then we decided that we would drive to the Ace Hardware in Morro Bay; Mr. Fun wanted to purchase a few odds-and-ends of things for his own personal "honey-do" list. One of the items we keep looking for is a Hibachi barbecue. We had one many years ago, but cannot seem to find one currently. Ace Hardware did not have one either.

As we left the hardware store we decided to stop for dinner. We thought we'd try Taco Temple. My gosh, the place had a line of waiting people. So we drove just a little further down the street to LoLo's Mexican Restaurant. We had eaten there once this past winter and it was good. There was no waiting; we got seated immediately, and we both ordered the "California Enchilada" with grilled vegetables instead of chicken or beef; it was absolutely delicious. We'll be doing that again in the future I am sure.

When we left the restaurant, the sky was so beautiful, so we drove up the hill into the nearby neighborhood to get a great look at Morro Rock and the PG&E Powerplant. With its three tall stacks. We ooooohed & aaaawwwwwhed for a while and then headed for home.

Good night from California's Central Coast.
