Day at a Time

Calendula with drone fly

What a beautiful day! Warm, sunny, bit of a breeze. Just lovely and most welcome. The insects were out in force. I even saw a red admiral but didn't catch it with the camera. Instead here is a drone fly enjoying the calendula flower. I grow calendula every year. I don't really favour these electric orange ones (Indian Prince) but the Ice Maiden variety I also planted didn't work this year. Still, they're cheery and the insects like them.

A good walk and catch up with a friend this morning. Lots to talk about. This afternoon I'm going for a swim. I like swimming but I don't like changing rooms and all the other palaver. However I'm a bit concerned about my lack of exercise. Since I returned from Orkney I've not done any decent walking and I've not been at yoga for weeks. I am going to put that right tomorrow but all the same I really have to do something about it. I can walk to and back from the pool and stop at Lidl on my way. Efficient use of time.
