An ordinary life....

Perth...

The River Tay and St Matthew's Church quickly snapped from Perth Bridge (also known as Smeaton's Bridge.)

David messaged me at 8am with the good news that his covid test was negative.  Woo hoo!  Alan's test also proved negative when he got up.  Double woo hoo!!

It felt great to get out of the house and we headed to Gillies in Broughty Ferry to look at sofas, stopping at the Arts and Antiques Centre in Abernyte for lunch.  Had a quick mooch around there and spotted three large white ceramic ginger jars that will be perfect on the mantle shelf above the Aga once the kitchen has been painted.

We had identified three sofas in particular that we wanted to look at in the Broughty Ferry shop but for one reason or another, none of them lived up to expectations so we headed back to their Perth store to look at the sofa we loved when we popped in there a couple of weeks ago.  Sat on it and felt exactly the same about it.  So comfortable.

In the end we've gone with the three seater, two seater and chair, ottoman stool and foot stool.  Having previously decided on a neutral fabric we had a complete turn around and ordered a deep blue called Atlantic Jewel with contrasting scatter cushions.  I decided that a little eventual colour fade due to the sunshine was a better alternative to a cream sofa getting marked with dye transfer from jeans and red wine spillage!  LOL!  Delivery estimated 11th November so that focuses the mind!

Heading to bed now but I have a watery left eye and my left nostril needs blown.  Hmmmm.....wondering if a covid test is in order.
