Sunshine and compost
Not a bad day today - lots of sunshine and no rain! Spent a couple of hours weeding couch grass from the top of the bank next to the steps down to the garage. It's probably the only suitable place to grow perennials and not many of those! Kneeling and weeding isn't quite like it used to be - by lunchtime I had to give up!
Went down town after lunch for a few essentials, including a quick run out to Poppies for a couple of bags of compost. Like most garden centres they store their compost outside, so the bags are sodden and very heavy. While wheeling it up to the shop a wheel fell off the trolley!
Finally made it home, and put the bags in the greenhouse, opening one on the flat to try to dry it out. I spent most of the afternoon potting and pottering - gardening is better standing up these days!
Sat outside with a book and a cuppa for a while, but as luck would have it the clouds began to build up and eventually I gave it up and returned to gardening. Now, when I've come indoors, the sun is shining from a wide blue sky!
My Blip today is the view from Poppies Garden Centre across the bay to Oban airport, properly called Oban & the Isles Airport. Who can identify the three aircraft parked on the tarmac? Today's extra is a view of Connel Bridge, also from Poppies.
