Roses to brighten a grey day
Mr hazelh surprised me with this lovely bouquet of roses this afternoon. They have cheered up a very grey day in Edinburgh.
We have been busy plotting our movements over the next few weeks. These range from rather mundane trips (such as taking Mummy hazelh for her next flu and Covid vaccinations) to a short holiday in Northumberland the next time that our flatmate is in the hands of my not-so-little sister.
Our most exciting future engagement is a concert in Doune on the afternoon of Sunday 20th October. 'Tales from an old bassoon' will celebrate the centenary of a musical instrument that once belonged to Mr hazelh's grandfather. Peter Wesley, a former pupil of Mr hazelh's musician grandfather and the current owner of the bassoon, has devised a programme of music to be accompanied by readings from the memoirs of his old teacher (extra). The concert is one of the events to mark the centenary of Doune Rural Hall. There is more information about this on the Hall's web site at https://douneanddeanston.com/2024/09/17/rh100/. Perhaps other blippers within striking distance of Doune would like to come along to the concert on 20th October?
Also today, I have been busy cooking ahead. This afternoon I made two cottage pies and a lasagne. One of the pies was consumed with enthusiasm at supper time.
Exercise today: 7k run; walking (14,378 steps including run).
