Hibiscus Memorial
I had a very restful and long uninterrupted night’s sleep. Parker hopped out of bed later than usual but made it to school on time. He told me last night that three of his coworkers were fired yesterday and one is on thin ice. But his boss made an extra effort to compliment him on the great work he was doing. I am very proud of his work ethic. Last night, he went in on his day off because they were short handed. He washed 60 golf carts; his job requires hard work. I left soon here after Parker so I could get ready and pick my mother up on time for the funeral. It was quite chilly outside, with temps in the low 50°’s F. A previous pastor officiated at the funeral liturgy. I am using this hibiscus (my sister’s plant) in Sandy’s memory. In some cultures, hibiscus are used in funerals to remember and honor loved ones who have passed on. The yellow hibiscus stands for happiness, joy and good fortune. Father is very close to Sandy’s family. He told us how they went to him with a fund raising idea to save our school from closing. They worked tirelessly, were successful and our beloved school is still spreading the Gospel. Sandy was the matriarch and the one who taught her family to give back to her church and community through example. She spread happiness and joy wherever she went. Folks will be appreciative of Sandy and her family for many years to come. Hubby and I stopped at a 1950’s themed cafe to get take out lunch. Our subs were delicious and we will not need another meal this day. We stopped at the bank to get my portion of the root canal cost! Yikes! We are blessed to have that kind of unallocated money in our accounts. Hubby has a Knight’s meeting; I will let the pups and Belle entertain me. Wishing you an evening with enjoyable entertainment. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” - William James
