Gold & Ruby...
The day started off well with Penny informing us that Alan's tracking hoist in his bedroom wasn't working. D contacted the company who services the hoist and they said someone would be out before lunch to look at it and hopefully fix it. This meant Penny had to use the manual hoist, which for safety reasons requires two people to operate it, so D had to cancel his golf with Keith and Alastair.
The hoist engineer arrived mid morning and fitted a new handset. Problem solved. Yay!!! This meant D managed to get onto our local course just after 2pm so at least he didn't miss out completely.
I spent a chunk of the afternoon writing birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. The last three months of the year have more family and friends birthdays than the rest of the months put together!
Also spent a while in the garden with Lola. She's had a bit of an upset stomach (gave her some Pro-Kolin. Thanks for the tip Jen :-) and is still full of the joys. Wanted to get some photos of her beside the Japanese maple. Gold and ruby :-)) More in extras.
D has spent a chunk of the day in contact with the car dealer in Birmingham regarding our new car. Because our address registers as the Highlands (it's not!) it adds £££ to delivery charges, so it will be MUCH cheaper for us to drive down, stay overnight, pick the car up the next morning then drive home.
Of course the diary is pretty full for the next few weeks but after some re-shuffling (golf cancelled for D, my lunch with J & F cancelled and my next nail appointment!) we have agreed we will drive down on 31st October and collect the car on the morning of 1st November. A wee road trip. I'm quite looking forward to it :D
