MA (Hons)

Just a wee bit proud of my wee girl today - with her 2:1 degree and her job in Nigeria for two years, she's all set.
The sun shone and the setting at the Uni was fab. The ceremony was in Latin and we all had to sing Gaudeamus Igitur - reminded me of school choir!! It went pretty fast once they got going and no sooner were the students on the stage, was the next one being processed. I had to be quick with the camera and we were quite far back but managed a couple of smiley shots!
We had Pimms on the green after and plenty photos and fun with hat throwing and squeals of delight as they caught them again. It was all very relaxed and Susan shone. Most of her friends had graduated the day before or in the ceremony following hers but we had fun meeting some of them as she took her gown back.
All 14 of her friends have hired a huge villa in Portugal for a week from Saturday - then they all go to different corners of the world. I'm so glad they all have something to look forward to or today would have been tinged with sadness.
We had lunch in Jamies in Aberdeen and then tennis watching!
Dinner was at Malmaison which was incredible. No bones for me tonight with my Hot smoked salmon, heritage beetroot, watercress & horseradish crème fraiche followed by Pan-fried sea bass, chorizo, heritage potato, samphire & cockle vinaigrette. Just delicious. Susan and her dad waded their way through lobster - what a time it took to get all that lovely meat out! It was so gratifying to see her having such fun and enjoying every mouthful! She really was in her element!
Once again, the three of us had a wee whisky outside and talked about how we had all enjoyed the last 2 days...and how proud we are are of Susan.
