More pumpkins at Ham House plus liquorice!

First I went to Pilates and had coffee after. Good to hear one of my friends has done a similar trip which she said was excellent, with same travel company that I am planning for next year.

Later I cycled to Ham House NT..quicker than driving as so many traffic problems in Twickenham, Richmond and Kingston re roadworks at present. It was drizzling a bit on and off all day but not too bad just rather dull all day.

I met a friend I have not seen for a while and we did the Architecture tour, a very good guide informative but concise. The house was built in 1610 and is one of the best examples of that era in the country with many regional features. I have been there many times,  mostly to the gardens, but learnt a lot today.

The photo is in the vegetable garden which is quite extensive at Ham House and had a trail for children/ adults to spot 10 plants which could be made to make a potion( with es potion for Halloween) . They did have information and notices to point out the plants , I knew 9 of them but liquorice plant…see second extra…was a new one on me and I used a plant app to double check! I think this was much more educational than the silly fairy, spooky Halloween trails the NT often do. I think was was done by the gardeners at this house not from NT head office!

Lots of update from my friend who is about to be lady captain at the golf club where I used to be a member.
