Amoongst the flax flowers

The culmination of a walk in roads near where the conference was held, wasseeing a tui fly ove me and land in a flax bush. After the nectar. It stayed there as I slowly made my way from the road over increasingly soggy grass to get close and at the right angle. This tui was very obliging and I left before it.

A few minutes earlier while the road was passing through heavy vegetation on both sides, a kereru thrust its head and upper body out and eyed me. (The first extra).

The second extra was taken as the ferry from Auckland City to Waiheke Island was starting out.

The small conference I was attending was organised by colleagues from Counties-Manukau. The dots signify that that the two of us who could have retired have not yet done so.
