Thank You
It’s a measure of how busy I was on Saturday night and yesterday, that I only got around to opening my little thank you gift from our Stage Coordinator today!
It is a bit of a tradition in KAOS that all of us on the scenery and props team get a card and a little gift, to thank us for our work over the week of the show.
It is always appreciated to have one’s efforts recognised, though that isn’t the reason any of us do it - we just love musical theatre. And I felt slightly fraudulent receiving a gift this year, as I also got to take a bow and soak up some applause, thanks to my couple of minutes onstage during the show.
What I like most of all though is the thought that goes into the gift. Every year we get something that is related to the show and this year was no exception as you can see from the brake disc key ring. It’s even better than you might think as the disc actually revolves!
Got to admit though, that applause is quite addictive. Maybe next year I’ll come fully out of the darkness and try for an onstage role. After 30 years, it could be time to cast off the backstage blacks and step out of the wings…
