A rather wasted day
It might well have bucketed down all day today, as I was stuck indoors dealing with a Photo Club competition. As it happened, it didn't!
Normally with a print competition we send the box of prints by post or carrier to the judge, who might be some distance away. The judge would come to Oban on the judging night and deliver his verdict; the club would pay his overnight expenses and his fee.
This time, however, the judge said he was unable to come due to a medical condition, but it seemed unfair to ask him to record his judging and email it to me, and then pack up and send back the box of prints. We decided to photograph the mounted prints and send them to him so he could look at the mounting, along with the original images so that he could judge the photographic quality.
It proved to take much longer than expected, Anthony and I spending most of the day at it. Never again! My Blip today is of Anthony taking the pictures in our hall! Behind him is one of my retirement presents - a lovely print of Mitraria coccinea, a Chilean climber.
Quote of the day: 'The camera sees more than the eye, so why not make use of it?' - Edward Weston.
