Double Everything!!
After dropping Dd at the Largs train station heading cross country to Fife, I dropped into Morrisons supermarket to set myself up for the day! TWO pieces of slice sausage, TWO fried eggs and TWO or more coffees, all for less than a fiver! They were YUM!
In IMPORTANT news, Mum has passed her ‘interview’ to be accepted into Hutton Park care home in Largs that was the top of our list and keeps her in Largs with the same sea view that she has enjoyed from her own flat for the last 22 years.
I made sure I was in to the hospital early to wake her up gently from her post-breakfast nap and warm her up to the interview, helped by her saying that she thought she’d never get out of the hospital.
This was a perfect cue to share that I had a ‘get of hospital’ card up my sleeve that could be activated by as early next week. That got her attention.
‘Mum,’ I ended a long positioning speech and knowing she can be strong willed about certain things, ‘For the first time in your life you need to do exactly what your No.1 son says . . . be super nice!’
She played it perfectly and, actually, genuinely, talking about how the time was right for her to go in and how much she looked forward to being part of their community.
She ended with, ‘I used to go to visit my neighbour in Hutton Park and once forgot to take in sweeties. ‘’Och, Jean, it’s no the sweeties I want, it’s you!’’ ‘.
Mum was offered a room in the next breath!
