Blowing In The Wind
We had a bit of a storm last night, with rain not snow. The wind was still blowing when we got up. But the sun was out in a near cloudless sky. These grasses are by the back deck. Birds love their seeds. I sat on the window seat and watched the dark eyed juncos swaying in the wind with their feathers blowing in all directions. I made sausage, egg, cheese and tomato sandwiches and cranberry pecan scones for everyone. We read, worked puzzles, streamed shows, etc. It was a pleasant, quiet day. Hubby decided to enjoy his day by the fireplace in the downstairs rec room. There are comfy recliners down there. But with no cell signal, you can really feel isolated. Jamie had tons of video teleconferences so we tried to provide quiet. Renee texted to inform us our mother was under the weather. She was concerned it could be the pneumonia germ affecting so many. Neither my sister nor I could make an outgoing call. An hour or so later, I was finally able to speak with our mother. She sounded fine, did not cough or mention being sick. Her cousin had the same experience when she called Momma. My guess is that maybe she didn’t want to inconvenience Renee who was taking her dinner. I felt total relief after speaking with her. We would feel much better if our mother would come with us so we could keep an eye on her. But we understand her not wanting to make such a long journey. Our BIL is treating the boys to a fish fry tonight. That will be a real treat on a cold windy night. Wishing you an unexpected treat tonight. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “A light wind swept over the grasses (corn), and all nature laughed in the sunshine.” - Anne Bronte
