Blue sky thinking

Still laughing from attending the panto last night. 'Aladdin' was a special version set in Oban with local people including many school children and jokes about local places. Absolutely hilarious!

A much better day today - bright and sunny. Some indoor work this morning then we decided to have lunch out at Poppies garden centre. On the way we stopped off at Pennyfuir cemetery. I always enjoy a wander there, but I was hoping to get some ideas for an upcoming Photo Club competition, 'Graveyards', which was my idea. I was hoping that it would be treated as a challenge, using the theme to do something different and not simply snapshots over the graveyard wall! I took a few pictures, but nothing suitable for a competition. I must find a small country churchyard instead, I think.

Good lunch at Poppies, with the usual wonderful view out over the yacht-filled marina. On the way home we turned off to visit Dunstaffnage Castle, or at least to have a wander along the shore beside it. This is more or less opposite Poppies on the other side of the bay. My extra today is of the good ship 'Sir John Murray', a scientific survey vessel named after the founder of the first marine laboratory in Britain, which went on to become the Scottish Association of Marine Science, situated very close to this Dunstaffnage pier. The mountain in the background is Ben Cruachan, 1126m.

Back home and I sat outside for 15 minutes with a book and a cuppa, while the sun dropped behind the trees. 6.3 degrees! A wonderful sunset - I should have walked up to McCaig's Tower!
