We had a leisurely day. My big job was repackaging all the gifts to fit in the XEROX boxes so we could close them for transport. We had breakfast and watched the birds. Hubby read and worked puzzles. Our BIL busied himself outside after helping my sister with laundry. It was much nicer out today than it’s been in a few weeks. After we cleaned the kitchen, it was time for lunch. We each scoured the leftovers and chose what we wanted. I picked chicken salad. My sister and I visited the neighbor. We had another package to pick up. We chatted for a couple hours. My sister worked on the Christmas tree her son had assembled while I listened to various old stories she told. We bought her a gift card to thank her for letting us use her address for our packages. It is our way to help her without it seeming like charity. We are so blessed and she struggles but is not one to depend on others. We came home to make our Thanksgiving dinner at long last. My sister took care of the turkey breast, I prepared the sweet potatoes for baking. I will make candied sweet potatoes when they cool enough to peel. We’ll cook the mashed potatoes, beans, stuffing and gravy when the turkey is almost ready. Voila! It has been such a nice day and we are eternally grateful for our blessings. Wishing you a similar day. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “Old stories are like old friends. You have to visit them from time to time.” - George R. R. Martin
