Anticipation

I am having a quiet night in, my intention has been not to stay up until midnight but to have an early night. A candle has been lit and a glass of something sparkly raised. I’ve played some music and watched a bit of TV (the RI Christmas Lectures with Chris Van Tulleken are fun). 2024 has been a year I won’t forget.

This afternoon I travelled into Manchester. I first of all visited the cathedral and lit a candle there, and then moved on to the Royal Exchange. I haven’t been to the theatre there for many years, so it was good to see “Spend Spend Spend”, the musical about 1961 pools winner Viv Nicholson. It was very well done, a crowd pleaser. I enjoyed it.

In the image the chap standing up is about to walk centre stage and explain that one of the actors cannot be there tonight so a stand in has had to step in. He did very well, I wouldn’t have known.
