Log on
Because of Panto commitments, it was also my last full day with the children for two weeks and with the end of the school hols nigh (boooo!), we had a few jobs to sort out in town.
The first of which was to attend to m’boy’s unruly barnet. I was anticipating the usual long wait, but he was straight into the chair for his skin fade, and looked all the better for it after - if a little colder around the back and sides of his head.
I was intending on a leisurely stroll and to give them some time to browse, which we had to a degree, but then had to head for home as a long awaiting log delivery was due at short notice - and with heavy snow forecast, the timing was perfect.
It’s quite rare that the children show enthusiasm for any household chore, but stacking the logs seems to make us all as happy as burning them!
And yes, we probably should get out more….
Quick turnaround for lunch, then back out again to collect some shopping for the parents. I was delighted to find my father looking much better and moving far more freely than he was earlier this week. It looks like his health come back is well under way and fingers crossed for no further setbacks.
Bit of downtime in the late afternoon for us - I’ll choose to gloss over another shocking result for West Ham - before the children’s favourite home-cooked tea at mine; chorizo pasta, and then a viewing of The Mask, which I was delighted to find they really enjoyed!
