litl hikes

By litl

The weather forecast for the morning didn’t look good. I drove to Kendal to buy a few groceries from Morrisons. It was misty all the way.

Fortunately I didn’t want breakfast because the cafe was closed . . . so was the fresh fish counter, the hot takeaway counter and the deli meat counter. There was no own brand milk and I forgot one of the things that was on my list.

Perhaps worse than all the above, the toilets were closed too.

The weather improved as I drove home and it was too nice to stay in. A quick lunch then a bus ride to Rydal and a walk by the lake to White Moss arriving with 2 minutes to spare before the next bus to take me to Grasmere.

I had 15 minutes to wander around the village before catching another bus back to Ambleside. I spotted a book by a local artist in the bookshop window and back in Ambleside I popped into Fred’s to see if they had it. They did and I bought one.

Finally a meal to cook. It’s been a busy day.

More photos in extras.
