Allotment update - August
Continuing the monthly shot of the state of the allotment from the same place. Spent an energetic morning harvesting and tidying up. Weeder in chief blitzed almost the whole plot while I harvested shallots, garlic, more courgettes, dwarf beans, beetroot, potatoes and a few radishes and tidied up the tomatoes.
So, you can see the runner beans and climbing French beans are doing well. In front of them, in the space where the broad beans and peas used to be I've sown some more dwarf beans.
We thought we'd have a shower or two this morning as there was a rumble or two of thunder about. But it all passed by to the west. We could do with some rain, the bit we had last weekend has done some good. Digging the soil shows there's still moisture there.
After lunch and a bit of revision we went to the gym, as if we hadn't had enough exercise! The aircon was not working well and so it was particularly sweaty. Had to swap changing rooms and use ladies as males were repairing showers. Nice to see how the other half live. Liked their scales as they told me I was 93.5kg, 2kg lighter than last week.
