Desperate ............
......... dash blip before I went into the house.
The Worcester boiler man cometh this morning - I am now like SuperMario but only a trainee SuperMario!!!
I asked advice about some radiators that were not getting hot and enquired about a power flush ........... instead of having me spend around £600 (there are 12 radiators) he suggested I bleed all of them, check all the thermostat "pins", free any that were stuck and then turn on one radiator at a time, put the heating up to maximum and leave it for 30 minutes to see if the cold radiators got hot.
Sooooooooo, after he left, I armed myself with a pipe wrench, a pair of pliers and a small (ladylike) hammer and commenced work as per instructions.
Only one needed bleeding (which I did) and I found five jammed pins - which I then unjammed (is that a real word?) - and carried on with the on-off, heating up palavar, upstairs and downstairs and also in the lady's chamber!!!!! :o)) That took me until early-afternoon.
The result was we now have three non-heating rads instead of five - a bit of a win in my opinion - and hopefully no expensive power flush.
Paul the Plumber will have to come back and view the three non-workers to see what the issue is.
Hopefully less than six hundredpoundsworth of issue.
What an exciting life I lead ............ :o))
