Hard to say no

...but I did at The March Hare in Guildford yesterday as I was driving and had one of our group, who is sight impaired, as my passenger. So I was on non-alcoholic lager. But I did have a glass of wine at Chertsey Museum this evening when there was a private view of a new exhibition about my old hospital, St Peter’s, Chertsey. It was based on memories of past and present staff and I was interviewed for the project last year. The extra shows me in front of one of the information boards on the origins of the hospital, which is headed by a quote from my interview in which I suggest that Emergency Medical Service hospitals  such as St Peter’s,  that were built around the country prior to the Second World War, were the forerunners of the NHS. The exhibition is very interesting and triggered a lot of happy memories for me as well as educating me on aspects of the hospital's history of which I was unaware. It was great also to see one or two former colleagues again. .
