Living my dream

Better

Beanio is behaving as though nothing whatsoever happened yesterday. Hooray! She only squawked once in the night, and otherwise we both slept soundly. There has been no sign of any pain or discomfort today. Thank you for all the concern and love.

While Bean has been snoozing (and yawning) much of the day, I've been busy in my kitchen and K's garden.

3 containers of cream of carrot soup have gone into the freezer. Carrots, onion, celery, dill, milk, S&P, cooked up then whizzed. (Extra.)

The apples I was given on Monday are now bottled. After checking my stores of dehydrated apple it was obvious I processed a huge amount last autumn. No more are required. But bottles of pip fruit are in short supply: now partly replenished.

The weeds are growing like crazy in K's garden and it felt as though my three hours there barely made an impression. I shall be there twice a week until I get on top of them.

We mulched the garden deeply 18 months ago which reduced the weeding to a minimum. K's death disrupted everything last winter, and it never crossed my mind to get mulch in. I'm paying the price now.

A good day.
Sunshine. A breeze to take away the edge of the heat. A happy dog. Good food. And a happy Mima.
