Windermere

Who’d a thought we could be walking in the Lake District in early March not in a raincoat, gloves or scarf but in just a fleece? And it could be warmer tomorrow.

The morning was taken up with shopping and homework; checking properties and making arrangements to view a couple of rental properties and also properties to buy which is the main purpose for our visit.

The sunshine beckoned this afternoon as we set off from the apartment to Orrest Head then down to the Lake and back through the town. A short rest at the (closed by the time we got there) Windermere Jetty Museum where today’s shot was taken.

The apartment is rather smart and elegant for the likes of us! Bright, sunny, well equipped and very comfortable. The extra is of Apllethwaite Hall. Our apartment is on the third floor, the three windows on the right with good views of Orrest Head and over towards the Langdales.

Wasn’t able to watch France demolish Ireland in the Men’s 6 Nations rugby. I did watch the second half of Scotland v Wales which promised to be a one sided affair especially after Scotland scored first after the break. However, the Welsh dug deep and the Scots took their eye off the game leaving Wales to give them a fright at the end.
