A walk on the wild side

We  set off to walk to Bracklin  Falls , outside Callander, this afternoon only to find the carpark full.
So, we drove up to Scout Bridge with the intention of joining this circular route which starts at Bracklin Falls.

All the information online suggested this was an easy three-mile circuit. Not so. Its six miles and graded moderate with a very steep walk up the side of the gorge.

We reach the top and ask other walkers what the rest of the route is like. They are all adamant that it’s even steeper going down. Well, with four artificial joints between us we decide to turn back.(see extra)

On our return we meet  two girls from Glasgow, armed with their picnic and painting materials doing some painting en plein air.

I felt quite envious.

All in all though a great afternoon in spectacular Scottish scenery  (see extra) culminating with  a late lunch in our favourite Callander restaurant.
