East Midlands Airport - £200...

...but with the Spitfire on the runway...PRICELESS!

Day in Birmingham today, and drove instead of train so i could capture a special moment at the airport. The British Airways 787 Dreamliner is flying over Rolls Royce at Derby, as a thank you for the engines that power it. in addition the Spitfire is flying with it, and it's based at East Midlands Airport....also on my monopoly board! Talk about killing 3 birds with one big stone!

Parked up round the back of the runway, and there were some proper plane anoraks there. one with the radio that tunes into the air waves, and the control tower! they go down there every day! I, unfortunately, don't go to East Midlands airport as often as i would like...i turned green with envy watching the Thomson plane take off to somewhere nice and sunny!

the fly over done, and then i'm off to Brum. A good day there, my challenge after meetings is to reduce my inbox from 260 emails to a nice, managable size....(I got it down to 28!! woo hoo!).

Left at 5pm, and thankfully rush hour in Brum in school hols, isn't all that bad. Home by 6.30pm, and lovely steak for tea (cheated with chips from the chippy!).

Great day - glad i went to the airport to witness the best of British!
