Blossom on the plum tree

This morning I went to the allotment and this is our Victoria plum tree in blossom. We planted the tree about 10 years ago and the crop has varied so much from year to year. Last year was very poor so I’m hoping it will be better this year as I love the plums to eat without cooking when ripe.

I also planted some potatoes…..although potatoes are cheap to buy they are easy to grow and make the plot look productive. The new strawberry plants I put in in the autumn all seem to be growing well. Not warm enough to plant many other things yet.

After I cycled past Hampton Court Palace, I think it will be a couple of weeks before the tulips are worth a good look. 

Went to daughters for fish and chip supper plus haloumi from very good shop nearby  and then as no Gladiators on TV today they have started watching the very first Harry Potter film, from 2001. They have read the book so can now see how it was interpreted. Interesting to see Daniel Radcliffe and the others so young, plus several actors who are no longer with us.
