Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A day of rest today after yesterday's non stop action.

I spent the morning (after my fitness exercise, of course) studying the proposed schedule of a holiday we're planning. And I noticed a few anomalies, like arriving from a long flight at 7am, but can't check in till 3pm... also, short stopover time at Schiphol Airport - not ideal, and I speak from experience. Got it sorted.

The sun was slow to appear today... and wasn't much use when it did appear by midday. It was positively freezing out. But you wouldn't have known when passing through the Meadows. Pikcnickers, barbecues, sunbathing - like it was a summer's day! I kid you not. I'm not sure it was even double figures! It was definitely woolly hat weather (though Bob forgot his).  Still, it's good that people make the most of any sunshine, however weak.

We met up with Anne & Bob in the cafe and had a good chinwag. They declined the invitation to come back for tea with us - I think Bob was going to have a snooze, and Anne was going back to Uniqlo. It was a short, but action packed visit for them.

We walked back over the Meadows and JR took Archie round the Lanes, while I got home and put the central heating on! Hopefully a bit warmer tomorrow.
