Buses? Don’t get me started!

I don’t recall ever having such a slow bus crawl seaward this morning. It seemed that every red light was working tirelessly to hold me up not to mention the bus popularity with more passengers than usual. The final insult was driver change en route when the drivers had quite a chat together while we waited. I was anxious because the lovely BlueTits had changed the dipping time from 8:00am to 7:50am to accommodate my arrival which all winter has been about 7:40. Now that they’ve done that the bus seems to have been extra slow since the #26 bus to Tranent which went through Porty is no longer. It is now the X4. The #26 that does go through Porty has a destination of Seton Sands. I was late for the first time ever this morning  but the sea waited for me and I had a lovely swim in sunshine along my sunbeam. As if to make a mockery of the whole scenario, the return bus whipped its way homeward with every traffic light green and hardly any passengers getting on or off.

I took my card wishing my doctor a happy retirement up to the Bruntsfield Health centre and then had a wonderfully slow amble home across The Links and Meadows. The sun shone and everything looked fresh and green. The plantings of young trees in the plastic containers were beginning to sprout over the top. Perhaps they are not going to be trees , just a hedge. It will be interesting to find out at some point.

The sun was warm and I set up an umbrella on the table outside in the hope of having lunch outside again, but to no avail. The clouds gathered and I am back inside with the door shut.
