The United States of Rotherham

We went across to Rotherham today to visit a friend. We went to Boston Castle, where our friend volunteers, so called because its builder The Earl of Effingham (seriously!) was a sympathiser with the American revolutionaries. A fine view over Rotherham and across to Sheffield is to be had from the viewing platform on the roof. Below us, although not visible in this shot, is the new New York football stadium, home to Rotherham United. We live just below the horizon on the left of this photo. the viisit was followed by a walk then a very agreeable lunch. I was pleased that there was a fine sky as it gave me the chance to try out my new polarising filter. Viewing large will probably give you a better view.
