Hanging On

This is just how I feel.

It's challenging to pack in one small suitcase each for four days in Toronto, where we'll enjoy the North American Festival of Wales and temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s F (25-29 C), and for ten days in Iceland, where the forecast high on the day we land will be about 50 F/10C.

And it's likely to be colder in the north of Iceland, where we'll be staying for three nights in a self-catering cottage at Lýtingsstaðir, an Icelandic horse farm*. We've been advised by the owners to "Prepare for all kinds of weather, have good gloves and a cap and good and proper shoes!" Rain pants, warm jackets, waterproof jackets, gloves, wool sweaters... not our usual holiday garb!

It's all going to be worth it once we get there, I know.

* The photography on this website is splendid -- well worth a look.
