Music soothes the savage beast

Not that I am a savage beast. Far from, but I do love music and it is very much a part of my life. When I was at college/university (OK, polytechnic), I could not do homework without having music playing in the background. If it was too quiet, my mind would wonder and my productivity would free fall. It's not so bad these days, but I will often have the iPod playing on shuffle right through the working day and I probably couldn't name more than half a dozen songs that played. It's not that I listen intently - I just need the noise.

I also find music very comforting when life is throwing you challenges. It's a great way to relax, unwind or forget about your troubles. One album in particular served this purpose for me many years ago, 'Bring It On' by Gomez. Here is a sample track, Whippin' Piccadilly.

Boys night tonight. Bar Amigo (Mexican) in Hitchin. Looking forward to it though I must admit I usually find Mexican food a bit disappointing. How many ways can you find to fill a tortilla and give it an exotic name. It all tastes the same!
