Not Porty People and Places
Two swans flapped serenely down the lengh of the westerly runway at Edinburgh airport this morning. I hoped ATC had them on their radar! The big people carrying swans seemed somehow ungainly and out of place in the presence of such natural ornithological aviators.
I was up in the air again today bound for an important meeting in Genveva. Headwinds and cloud all the way there confirming that summer in Europe seems to be finally over for another year.
The Swiss, like the Danes, get integrated transport right. These refrigerated lorries are loaded onto flat wagons to save fuel and the environment as the slogan explains!
To welcome, and encourage, visitors to use the public transport here you can collect a free ticket in the baggage collection area that allows you 90 minutes to reach your destination in the greater Geneva area. Not sure the Edinburgh City Council will be quite so generous when our trams eventually start running all the way to Leith York Place!
