Autumn treasures
We've done a fair old bit of collecting this autumn. We've even braved the squirrels down the road to collect these pine cones, they're just next to a horse chestnut tree which the squirrels sit in and hurl conker fruits down to try and smash them open. Dangerous under that tree!! Dad's car has survived conker attacks too, when we go to Caterpillars on Tuesdays I park under a horse chestnut tree and there's always a handful of fresh conkers to collect when we come out ;) We've definitely picked the best time of year to visit Sale!
This morning we didn't make it to church in time for the Harvest Festival service, having got in fairly late last night and then having to deal with Bean being sick a couple of times in the night as well we were all a bit blurry this morning. We made it in time for the results of the Harvest Show though, and to see all the exhibits and entries! Was proper chuffed to have won a couple of "1st" rosettes and even a "best in show" rosette as well, I submitted three photographs and a painting and they all got either a rosette, a "special award" certificate, or a "well done" sticker. Very pleased! One of the prints is going to live at the church, in the cafe. That makes me smile :)
A slow afternoon followed, sorting out and tidying the front room with all my crafty junk that's been deposited in it over the few weeks we've been here, and the smell of a beef joint slow roasting in the oven. We'll be tidy and organised just in time to move again won't we ;)
