these feet were made for walking....
Arlo's feet crack me up (yes, I'm painfully aware that the previous statement has 'mother' written all over it - nobody on earth would ever say that about someone's feet) - they're always up to something.
When he's on his ride on truck (favourite toy on Earth) his feet are in full force, skidding round corners and aiming for Boris (long suffering) on the way past. When he's on his trike they're always trying to kick the pedals, like that's the sole (haha) purpose of being on the trike.
When he's sitting about in bare feet he grabs them and looks at his soles and studies them carefully - following the lines on his feet with his finger. He's just discovered that you can get fluff in between your toes too and he loves sitting picking it out. Lovely clean sock fluff, you understand. Not disgusting, minging, dirty feet fluff. Not yet anyway.
His feet almost get up to more stuff than he does.
The only thing his feet are NOT doing is bloody walking. We've decided to take The Beloved Truck and hide it for a little while as he's using it like one of those electric sit on bike things that old people have for doing the shopping in (there's always one sitting outside that shady pub on Great Junction Street) - he follows you everywhere on it and due to it's height he's able to reach all of the things he'd only normally be able to get if he stood up - so, it's being banished (don't worry Nana and Grandad, he'll get it in little shifts) in the hopes that he decides to use the 2 walking thingies to get him around instead.
I'm not overly bothered that he can't walk - but I am a bit bothered that he isn't bothered about it, I want him to discover what a joy it is to be upright. So - we'll see. I took him over to the big boy's park today (not it's official name) which is covered in woodchips and really uncomfortable to crawl about in. I thought if he saw all the other kids running around AND he was uncomfortable, he might do something about it, but no - he's a crawler and he's proud to be.
He'll get there. He's just taking his sweet time is all.
After a mad, mad week of working in the office and the pub I am delighted to be sat in my jammies on my sofa, awaiting my dinner cooked by The Dog (prawns and linguine I think - a Joliver recipe YUM), supping wine and anticipating our double episode of True Blood. This is our new Favourite Telly Programme of All Time EVER (III)- made by the same people who made Six Feet Under - which was our Favourite telly Programme of All Time EVER (I) so we were bound to love it. And it has filled the gap created by watching the end of The Wire - which was our Favourite telly Programme of All Time EVER (II).
So - we were bound to love it. EVEN THOUGH it sounds mental cos it's about vampires. It's amazing, exciting and totally, totally watchable. Hooray!
Have finally backblipped the holiday. Mostly with cheating pics taken by Bry (well, 2).
Happy Friday my lovely chums - took quite a collective effort to get here, but get there we got...
