Mushroom, by the Sports Centre
No idea what type of mushroom this is, all I know is that I was struggling for a Blip today (as ever!) and I had passed these growing by the Sports Centre every time I went to another lecture/seminar. As the day is so spread out, followed by a massive four hour slot that finishes at six, I am always absolutely knackered at the end of my Tuesday.
It also does not have my favourite classes by far. All of my French language classes are today, which is always fun. I feel like I’m losing my French rather than improving it in my speaking class first thing. But that might just be the lectrice who runs it, I feel like I cannot do anything right. In a way, I feel like I no longer want to speak French, which is an absolute shame. Hopefully I’ll get my spark back before the exam. Which no one knows how to do because the lecteur/trices don’t really tell us properly what it is that we are meant to do. Anyway, enough complaining. My translation class, I find it really interesting. I’m not sure how much we’re learning…but hopefully it is one of those learning that happens subliminally. I’m worried though, because that particular teacher is going on sabbatical now to do some research, so we have a new teacher now…who might not be as good. On verra. Then my final lesson of the day is Essay…again, I’m not sure how much of it I’m learning and how much I’m lost. I’m not certain why they have decided to introduce an entire new format for writing an essay in our final year, and how we have to use this format for the exam. And it is hard, and confusing. Well done Warwick French I guess…
That is not to say that I dislike my degree, I’m just tired and confused about what it is that we are meant to be doing here. I love my subjects, and I’m happy that I’m here. I think I’m just tired!
In other news, Thom came to visit last night…so I got to see him instead of not seeing him for over two weeks…thank god. It was nice to have someone to come home to, and have a cuddle and some down-time. When I came back I found Andy and Thom chilling in the kitchen, so it was lovely to just spend some time with them…then Thom and I cooked an awesome meal (standard!).
