Rescued?

Cycling across Dolphin Bridge this morning I was surprised to see two abandoned bikes.

This one, and another child-sized bike propped against the wall. It looked like they had both been pulled out of the river (please click on the thumbnail to see the river, and what it looked like on this day last year).

On close inspection it looked - to me - that although the wheels on each one were a bit buckled the frames were sound.

I wonder where the people are who once rode the bikes?

I'm sure if something horrid had happened to them there would at least be a 'police - do not cross' tape in situ.
