To Salute a Good Idea
My car had to go in for its annual service today.
I have a very happy arrangements with the garage in that they service the car whilst I go off for a long walk.
I wandered in to Summerhill Glen which is just off the northern end of Douglas Promenade.
I saw these wonderful seats and was immediately reminded of 45 gallon oil drums.
On closer inspection they looked as if they had, indeed, been made out of cut up and welded oil drums. The standard of workmanship and the paintwork was very good. Almost too good.
The last time I saw a drum put to such good use was as a Benghasi Burner in Cyprus in 1974 and upon which there was cooked a barbecue.
