Stepford Wife

Worked today. Flat out. Spent the morning in my office and the afternoon in the Laundrette cafe on Beech Road. Gemma had Audrey.

I was in the middle of a particularly taxing work email at the cafe and I glanced up and saw Gemma walking down the street with Audrey on the reins (see pic). My heart lurched. My little girl!! There she was bobbing along with her cream woolly hat on chatting to Gemma.

Gemma looked guiltily at me and half smiled as we'd agreed that she wouldn't let her see me. But I just wanted to run out and scoop her up.

She's been in an amazing mood again today. We're on a roll, almost a week now.

Angus and I are still frosty so took the opposite approach tonight (from nagging). Cooked him his favourite tea, put the City game on Sky Sports and brought him a beer and told him to put his feet up. Proper Stepford Wife stuff. I just don't see the point of dragging our fight out. Its time to get us back on track.
