Manley Park
Wasn't impressed this morning. Was lying in bed planning our day. Mmmm lunch out in Didsbury maybe? A lovely family walk in the sunshine? And I was all set to give Angus a lie-in, when he muttered the immortal words,"Gotta go into work". I was less than impressed.
He had no day off last week, worked his day off last Sunday, cancelled date night Friday (and proceeded to work another 7 hours on top of his shift, getting home after midnight) and worked his Sunday off today.
But apparently I am the unreasonable one and I just don't understand his industry *sigh*. I never will sadly, it seems to short change family life constantly - working evenings and weekends leaves me a single Mum most of the time. Or that's how it feels.
Just had to pick myself up and plan a day alone with Audrey. We went on a big walk to Whalley Range and Manley Park. We haven't been there before and it's pretty good - all enclosed so you can let your child run wild.
There was another Dad in there with his 3 year old Daisy and 1 year old Delilah. I know their names as we got chatting and he was lovely. It was a bit awkward at first as for some reason it had this weird "chatting each other up" sort of vibe but as soon as the words "my wife" and "my husband" had been mentioned by each of us, we were able to relax into our conversation. The relief was palpable! Ha ha!
Jo popped over this afternoon and Audrey and I played a funny game with her involving sticking post-it notes on our socks. Who knew it could be so much fun?
Audrey has been a delight this weekend, on top form and lots of cuteness and giggling.
Had a massive row with Angus when he came home (think that was brewing all day) and stormed off to the Traff to try and get my work phone fixed. Home via Topshop and the car wash.
Relations still frosty at Home Pride with a steadily improving outlook forecast later.
