Glass Bottomed Boats and Alligators

After a lovely evening in Key Largo we woke reasonably early and Steve picked us up some Dunkin' Donuts for Breakfast.

This past week was not a healthy eating week.

We then went out on a glass bottomed boat which was really cool. There were a bunch of sea gulls all coming out with us and I took some amazing shots of them flying right alongside the boat.

Once we had gotten out to the coral area the sea was a bit rough but we went down for a good ol' nosy under the boat. The visibility was quite good but shortly afterwards I started to feel a little bit queezy. I sat up to focus on the horizon for a while but it didn't help that there were about 3 other people all happily puking away into little paper baggies.

I thankfully held it together, stared at that horizon and was ok.

Afterwards we were heading up to Fort Lauderdale but on the way we stopped at one of the Everglade safari parks where we went out on one of the air boats and saw some of the wildlife. It was fantastic and I loved every minute of it. Before leaving we saw this guy. I was literally about 2 foot away from where he was laying basking in the sun. The ranger told us that gators generally did not bother about humans unless they were being tormented. It was amazing to see how massive these guys were. Unbelievable experience.

The evening in Fort Lauderdale was nice, but this was the evening the weather started to turn a little so we just went out for a nice dinner and then some drinks before having an early night.
