Goldilocks

I had the afternoon off work today. It started with carrot cake and hot chocolate with Michael to celebrate his birthday, then I got my hair cut, and then I was supposed to have my physio appointment - but the physio was sick so I ended up coming home early instead. I'm going tomorrow instead.

Over the years I've had a mixed relationship with my hair. When I was young I was picked on a lot for being ginger, I hated it. I hated the colour and the texture. I tried so hard to tame it, I spent hours drying it so it would go straight, I even ironed it on occasion. Thankfully I never burnt it.

I once made the mistake of getting a fringe cut - huge mistake - despite trying to control it, it always ended up at ringlets around my face. Sounds sweet you say? Well not when you're a teenager and everyone else had perfectly straight fringes. My life considerably improved when GHDs came on the scene. I still remember the first time I used them. They have vastly improved my life - I have 3 pairs. One at home, one at work and a back up.

Over the years I've also dyed it many colours - from neon purple, to black, to blonde. Believe me, you soon learn it's not a good idea - ginger roots are not a good thing.

Despite all of this, it's been a good few years now that I've loved my hair. It's beautiful - it has tones of copper, red and blonde. It curls nicely and it straightens with ease (thanks to GHDs). It's thick and lustrous and it looks like this.
