Parent's evening

Tricky day with the little one. Very much out of sorts, easily upset and tired. She slept for almost three hours at lunchtime. Fighting an illness is our latest theory.

Took her to Tumble Tots this morning which she loved. She was wary of the bouncy castle when we first used to go but I couldn't get her off it today (see pic). The schools were off in Chorlton for some reason so it was really busy but she enjoyed it nonetheless.

Angus was as hungover as "a bag of spanners" (his words) today after a boozy night out with his team last night. Today was quite a trial for him at work.

It was Audrey's parents evening tonight. Seems strange to be having a parents evening at a nursery but apparently it's de rigeur nowadays!

In many ways, the feedback was really positive. She's pretty advanced in her communication, role play and understanding apparently. But I was shocked to learn that she'd had a bad incident a few weeks ago when another child had pushed her over. They felt that this had really affected her interaction in the class since - and set her back. Apparently she has become afraid of close contact with the other children and wary of interaction.

They are trying to fix it but it did make me wonder if it has made her more upset about nursery these past few weeks. She seems quite a sensitive soul if her bath aversion of late is anything to by (see yesterday's blip).

Took myself off to the Traff for tea and a mooch afterwards. Didn't buy much for myself but did some 'retail admin' (returning stuff), buying Nespresso capsules, Paperchase cards for various birthdays etc and picking up some new books for Audrey.
