Afternoon Tea
In Ampthill with Two Beers Mick and Coral.
We had a picture message on Whatsapp yesterday from Luke. It was a picture of an old fashioned china tea cup and saucer and he asked the question 'could we get something like this in the UK?'. Apparently, he and Cary were served coffee in these cups and Cary now wants something similar for the home.
Well, luckily, Ampthill has an antiques emporium that sells lots of old china, as well as a tearoom that does lovely tea, sandwiches and cakes. knowing that Two Beers and Coral wanted to try the tearoom, we invited them to join us for lunch today.
Two pots of RAF tea, several rounds of sandwiches and some very calorific cakes later, we popped into the antiques emporium and took pictures of every half decent tea service they had. These have now winged their way to China (pictures of china to China) and we wait to see if any of them tickle Cary's fancy. If they do, then we will be forced to venture once again to Ampthill to make the purchase and of course, to enjoy another afternoon tea.
It's a tough life, but someone has to do it.
