Through a hole in the branches...

Tunnel effect.

Early this morning, I spied a dove through a small hole in a mass of branches. It was several trees away, still as can be, staring at me through the same breech in the tangle of branches. It didn't seem bothered by my camera as I set up and carefully aimed; framing it in a blur of twigs. I managed to change the focusing system to 'spot focus', so only the bird would be sharp. Though, somehow, in the process of changing this while the camera was up to my eye (i.e. blindly) I also changed the quality from RAW to .jpg... Humph. I lost a little detail there! Oh well, win some loose some. At least I got a shot before I left on my road trip. ;)
