From Roman Manchester to MediaCityUK

Wednesday is Rotary Day, and today we had our lunchtime meeting on this barge, appropriately named the LS Lowry. Appropriate, because it sailed us down from Castlefields, where the old Roman fort still stands, to the Lowry Centre in Salford Quays, where the BBC, ITV and my old employer the University of Salford have also taken up residence. It's been a nasty wet day, but one punctuated by good food and drink and plenty of craic, not to mention the odd cormorant and great crested grebe.
